If you’re into makeup, you’ve probably heard the buzz: Urban Decay’s original Naked Palette, the one that broke the internet back in 2010, is back! As someone who never had the chance to own this iconic palette during its first run, I’m thrilled to finally get my hands on it. It’s the palette that put neutral shades on the map, and I’m here to tell you all about my first experience using it.

The Naked Palette’s Legendary Status

The original Naked Palette made waves when it first launched in 2010, quickly becoming a staple in makeup collections worldwide.

It was so popular that at its peak, one palette was sold every six seconds! With its versatile mix of warm and cool tones, it became the go-to for everything from subtle daytime looks to dramatic smokey eyes. After it was discontinued in 2018, fans were left longing for its return—and now, in 2024, Urban Decay has granted our wish with a limited-edition relaunch(

My Look: Smokey Elegance with a Modern Twist

For my first look with the Naked Palette, I couldn’t resist diving into some of its most beloved shades. I went for a smokey, yet elegant look that perfectly complements my deep medium brown skin tone. Here’s how I did it:

  • Gunmetal: I started by blending Gunmetal into the outer corners of my eyes. This cool-toned shimmery gray adds depth and drama, creating the perfect base for a smokey eye.

  • Creep: To intensify the look, I layered Creep over Gunmetal. This deep black shade with a touch of shimmer is ideal for adding that extra edge.

  • Toasted: For the main lid color, I used Toasted, a warm rosy-brown shimmer. It adds a beautiful contrast to the darker shades and brings warmth to the look—an absolute must for brown skin tones.

  • Sidecar: Finally, I highlighted the inner corners with Sidecar, a stunning champagne shimmer that brightens up the eyes and adds a touch of sparkle.

To finish off the look, I lined my eyes with Urban Decay’s 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Sabbath—a rich, deep blue-black that complements the smokey shades beautifully. This pencil is creamy, long-lasting, and delivers just the right amount of drama without overwhelming the look.

Why This Palette Is a Must-Have

This palette isn’t just about nostalgia—it’s about quality. The formula has been updated to be creamier, more blendable, and longer-lasting, making it even better than the original. The shades are richly pigmented, and they blend like a dream, with minimal fallout even in the shimmery shades.

Whether you’re a longtime fan of the Naked Palette or a first-timer like me, this relaunch is a must-have for any makeup lover. But hurry—this limited-edition release is sure to sell out fast. So if you want to add this iconic palette to your collection, now’s the time!
